What is included?  Awaken Your Soul Retreats are packages with simplicity in mind and aim to bring you an all-inclusive experience that covers all of your retreat costs so you can rest and not think.  All of your overnight accommodations, in-country travel, vegetarian meals, classes, workshops and life coaching are included.  You will even receive a customized retreat journal to help prompt your private reflection time. Retreats with specialists may include private health coaching, fitness, physical therapy sessions or energetic bodywork.

Excursions and additional costs?  Excursions during your leisure time are not included in your package unless specifically listed.  If you are interested in an additional adventure excursion (horseback riding, zip-lining, guided hikes) our retreat support team will book and arrange for all travel to and from your excursion.

Spa services at Samasati are available for an additional cost, highly recommended and available is a world class message or other forms of healing body work.

All meals are AMAZING farm to table fresh and vegetarian.  The chef prepares a nightly seafood or chicken entre that is available upon request for an additional cost usually between $7-$12 nightly.

How do I pay for my additional services?  Credit card information can be left with the Samasati retreat team and during your stay any additional services you enjoy can be billed directly to your room.

What does private mean? Samasati is a uniquely run private retreat center and Awaken Your Soul rents the space for our weeklong retreats.  We do not share the retreat dining restaurant, pool, jacuzzi or meeting spaces with any other groups. A handful of private residences are located in the 200+ acre nature preserve and occasionally we will see a car or local hiker passing through.

What is glamping (bugs?)?  Samasati is a retreat center not a resort hotel.  The casitas are clean, open-air spaces with electricity and private bathrooms with running water.  Run like a hotel, all casitas are cleaned daily and provided fresh linens and towels as needed. As a nature preserve, the jungle environment is pristine and filled with wildlife and nature of all kinds (including bugs).  The casitas do have high end screens and are treated with organic forms of bug deterrents leading to very minimal intrusion of our natural friends in your space.

Why Costa Rica and is it safe? Costa Rica is an amazing country with a safe, stable democratic form of government in place since 1948.  The infrastructure is underdeveloped, not well lit and traveling after dark is not recommended.  During the day in the country and in local cities, tourists are very safe.  Just like traveling anywhere you always need to be more attentive to your belongs. The Costa Rican philosophy to life is “Pura Vida” , living the pure life and they mean it.  You will love the people, culture and countryside as you relax into the Pura Vida mentality.

Why the Jungle?  Magic, mystical, and spiritual things happen when you spend time in nature.  The jungle awakens your five senses as you become aware of the diverse, complex world of creation.  It is an ideal setting to challenge your boundaries, find rest for your soul and awaken your lost spark. You will not be disappointed by this tucked away jungle refuge with an ocean view.

Adventure Inn?  Awaken Your Soul has partnered with San Jose based local boutique hotel Adventure Inn to allow our travelers the chance to rest and regroup near the airport after traveling to Costa Rica.  The Adventure Inn is a 3-star hotel. It is clean and simple overnight airport hotel with a fun vibe.  While not providing luxury accommodations the on-site restaurant is top notch.  Arrive a little early and you can even relax poolside with a drink from the pool bar.

How will this change my life?  A retreat is a vacation with a twist, it is a vacation for your soul.  Most people have not ventured into the world of traveling (retreating) for the focused intent of spending time investing in you, your spirit, soul and being.  The restorative experience will literally change your life, allow healing you didn’t know you needed and give you space and place to think about where you are going in your life and how you are going to get there.  Our customized approach to providing a guided retreat journal (along with one-on-one coaching) will gently guide you through a week of reflection, healing and restoration.  To further empower you in the next season of your life, you will also return home with the nuts and bolts of a life strategic plan.  What’s that?  You have to join us to find out.

Should I buy trip insurance? Purchasing trip insurance is a fail-safe way to assure your trip costs are cover and not lost if you have to cancel, get sick, need to be evacuated for health-related problems or have a travel related disruption.  We highly recommend that you invest in trip insurance and can provide a recommended partner if you like. 

Awaken Your Soul has a published deposit and trip refund policy and is not always able to refund deposits and payments related to last minute cancellation.  Please see our cancellation policy.  We do carry corporate liability insurance if the retreat needs to be canceled for weather or political related incidents. 

Deposit and retreat reimbursement policy?

Awaken Your Soul refund policy: Awaken Your Soul will issue a 100% deposit refund for all cancellations 75+ days before retreat start date. Simple email us info@awakenursoul.net. Due to retreat center deposit requirements, 0% deposit refund is available for cancellations 0-75+ days before retreat start date.

Remaining Balance Payments: Remaining balances are due 45 days before the retreat start date and will be billed electronically. If paid at the time of booking, a 50% refund of the remaining balance (minus the non-refundable deposit) is available up to 45 days before your retreat start date. All cancelation 0-45 days before your retreat start date are not refundable.

In special circumstances will will always try to work with you and apply your payments to future retreats.

Billing for all deposits and remaining balance amounts will be sent digitally and include 3% services fee for credit card processing.

COVID or Public Health Cancellation:

If the US or Costa Rican governments prevent in country travel due to COVID 19 retreat fees will be reimbursed or applied to a future retreat package. Trip insurance is not included, it is highly recommended that you consider purchasing coverage for your travels.
